Every other year the US Department of Energy hosts a global competition, “The Solar Decathlon”, where students are challenged to design and build energy-efficient homes that are powered exclusively by the sun. Come learn about two competition homes from 2007 and 2013 from the students who built them.  The presentation will take place, Saturday, January 4 at 5 PM at St. James Parish Hall, 96 E Genesee Street, Skaneateles.  Ellie Krause is a senior at Middlebury College majoring in Architectural Studies and a 2010 graduate of Skaneateles High School. Thomas Jaagus graduated from Penn State University in 2008 as a civil engineer, with a focus in sustainable development and residential construction.  He is now a resident of Skaneateles and is attending New York Chiropractic College.  He continues to work in design and residential construction.
Cookies and Cider will be served after the presentation.  This presentation is sponsored by Sustainable Skaneateles and EarthWorks.
