Sustainable Skaneateles and the Skaneateles Farmers Market invite you to meet the market farmers. Learn why local food sources are healthier and a more sustainable choice for your family and our planet. If you purchase food at our local farmer’s market you are supporting local farms, buying fresher fruits and veggies and connecting with the community. Our Market Vendors will be available to share with you their produce growing stories and what they “literally” bring to your table.
“From Our Farmers to Your Table” will take place on Tuesday, May 10th at 7 pm, at the Skaneateles High School Library, This event is free and open to the public. Those that attend will be entered into a Market Basket drawing.
The mission of Sustainable Skaneateles is to foster action, communication, education, and collaboration to achieve a sustainable community for current and future generations. Our theme for 2016 is “Sustainable Food”. In addition to our “From our Farmers to Your Table” event we are lining up additional activities during the growing season to promote sustainable food, including a “Food and Film” Series with the Auburn Public Theater (APT) and a Community Pot Luck Supper.
