The new village hall, which is projected to be a “net zero building” is designed to adhere to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards and is intended to require no energy from the grid. This is being accomplished by using solar PV to capture energy from the sun, as well as through geothermal heating and cooling, a geothermal water heater, Energy Star appliances, occupancy sensors, and Solatube light wells.
The Village Hall will serve as the hub for our Alternative Energy Tour. The Hall will be open to the public from Noon until 4 PM. We will have informal tours of the building and Sustainable Skaneateles will host exhibitors in the Hall’s Bays. The exhibitors are listed below:
